Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all experience each and every day, and not some mystical ability only few people possess.

Have you ever been watching TV, reading a book or gazing into space only to come back and wonder where the last few minutes went?  You have experienced the hypnotic state of trance.

 

While you are experiencing these dreamy states of mind, the door of your subconscious mind is open and you are experiencing what it feels like to be in a state of hypnosis naturally.

 

It is a state of mind in which the door of the subconscious mind is open and we can program the subconscious mind with new ideas and/or to retrieve the information that is already placed there.

 

The subconscious mind is the storehouse of our individual memories, experiences and programs.

 

Sometimes you may encounter references to subconscious as to one's "heart" because subconscious mind is governed by emotions. The more intense feelings you associate with any idea, the deeper that idea becomes impressed upon your subconscious mind. When you have two conflicting ideas, the one about which you feel more intensely will win.

 

The feeling may be anything from fear to love, from doubt to conviction, from resentment to gratitude. It may be new, or it may have been with you so long that you're not even aware that it is there because it has become a part of your being; what you identify with.

 

Programming your mind with new ideas will work in conjunction with beliefs and programs that are already in your subconscious.  When the programming is aligned with your subconscious mind fully supporting this new idea, you experience instant results.  A large part of the work is focused on gaining subconscious alignment with the desired change.

 

When you are in a state of hypnosis, your attention is focused on your subjective experience - your feelings, your thoughts and imagery which give rise to your perception and experience of the world.

 

The Hypnotist, as well as anyone or anything outside of you, have only as much power over you as you give them - consciously or unconsciously. 

 

You are experiencing some level of hypnosis whenever you direct your attention to your subjective experience - whenever you are involved in something that stimulates your imagination and emotions

 

You can experience hypnosis by anyone or anything that engages your imagination and stirs your feelings.

 

Deep Relaxation is commonly used in clinical hypnotherapy – however, there are infinite number of ways of successfully impressing suggestions upon subconscious mind.

 

If you were ever looking for something which was right in front of you - for example car keys - and you couldn't see them, you have experienced a hypnotic phenomenon called "negative hallucination".   And whenever you forgot something, you were experiencing some degree of amensia. How deeply in trance would you say you were?

 

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind we experience every single day.  In this heightened state of suggestibility, we program our subconscious mind with ideas that influence our experience of life, and the world also programs our minds through television, etc.

 

To have the most satisfying and fulfilling experience of life, we do need to be vigilant of what ideas we allow to take root in our minds.  If we do not choose what we impress upon our minds, someone else will make those choices for us.
